INTRODUCTION
- The Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council or MOGSC was formed on 1st December, 2003.
- It was established to promote the interests of Malaysian oil and gas service providers and make Malaysia a principal player for products, services and resources for the global oil & gas industry.
- MOGSC contribute to the development of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry by working positively and collaboration with PETRONAS, the Government, operating oil & gas companies, industry players and industry stakeholders.
- With a growing membership portfolio, comprising major oil and gas players and the smallest specialist services providers, MOGSC is the largest and most active association in the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry today.
MISSION
- To represent the interests of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Service providers and promote their core competencies and expertise.
- To position Malaysia as a center for resources, products and services for the Global Oil & Gas Industry.
- To contribute towards nation building through the development of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry.
OBJECTIVES
- To promote the interest and development the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services sector.

- To create awareness on matters of interest to the industry.

- To encourage strategic alliances between Malaysians and foreign expertise.
- To promote the upgrading and improvement of business skills.
- To positively contribute towards nation building.
To achieve MOGSC aspirations for MOGSC members, MOGSC will work positively and collaborate constructively with authority, clients, industry players and industry stakeholders to promote MOGSC members.
MOGSC benefit its members by:
- Providing an effective platform for networking and addressing industry issues.
- Developing beneficial programs such as training, technical seminars, talks, forums, etc.
- Providing an effective platform to promote smart partnerships amongst members and stakeholders.
- Providing an effective platform for authority and clients to promote industry agenda, programs and initiatives.
- Enabling the participation in local and international exhibitions and conferences.
- Promoting and supporting member companies and businesses.
- Promote members products and services in Malaysia and globally.
- Organise working groups for members of various industry sectors to actively participate and promote their sectors.
- Provide industry platform for members to engage and collaborate in the interest of their businesses.

- Monthly activities include meetings, forums, talks, brainstorming, dialogues, visits, working group meetings and exco meetings.
- Working groups activities including forums, brainstorming visits and industry engagement.
- Events such as the annual dinners, industry dinners, local and international exhibitions and conferences.
- Overseas promotions including exhibitions, forums and talks.
- Engagement and positive collaboration with PETRONAS, Operating Oil & Gas Companies, Goverment, and industry stakeholders.

MOGSC WORKING GROUPS
MOGSC yearly calendar is packed with activities ranging from conferences, exhibitions, forums, brainstorming sessions, talks, sporting events, social dinner events, official meetings with PETRONAS, government, oil and gas operators and other industry stakeholders. MOGSC also promote events overseas such as business visits to the Middle East and other regions and exhibitions overseas, in collaboration with MATRADE and other organisations.
MOGSC many activities are driven by the MOGSC working groups. These working groups are formed by members and driven by members, to pursue matters of their interestes and promote their particular industry sectors. This gives focus on key activities that are of interest and relevance to members and the industy.
New working groups can be formed depending on members interests and if there is sufficient members to make the working group.
The current working groups are :
- The Deepwater Working Group is involved in the very challenging deepwater sector promoting more Malaysian involvement and supports PETRONAS initiative to make Malaysia the regional center of excellence for deepwater.
- The Integrated Operations Working Group is actively working with PETRONAS and industry to roll-out the ISO 15926 initiative and promote Integrated Operations and the PINTAR initiative in the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry. Other oil & gas industry associations such as OSFAM and MOGEC also participate with this working group. The Integrated Operations agenda will promote cost reduction through more effective and efficient operations in the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry.
- The Decommissioning Working Group mission is to establish Malaysia as a centre of excellence for decommissioning services for the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry in the Asia Pacific region. In a new expanded role, this working group has been renamed the Brownfield Working Group.
- The Training & Technology Working Group actively supports PETRONAS aspiration to develop and improve the safety and competence of personnel working in the Oil & Gas Industry in Malaysia, and establish Malaysia as an regional industry leader in workforce competence.
- The Industry Consultative Commitee engages with PETRONAS, Oil & Gas Operators, MOGSC members, government and other industry stakholders by providing a platform to promote initiatives, drive industry agenda, address any issues of interest and ensure positive collaboration in the interest of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry. This working group is involved in initiatives with industry stakeholders and government to collaborate in the interest of the industry and the national economy.
- The Asset Integrity Management Working Group collaborates and promotes the development of Asset Integrity Management in the Malaysian Oil & Gas Industry towards maximising return on facilities/ assets while maintaining stakeholder value and minimizing business risks. Asset Integrity Management is key to the industry so that the asset performs at its required function effectively and efficiently whilst safeguarding life and the environment and also as a means of ensuring that the people, systems, processes and resources which deliver the integrity, are in place, in use and fit for purpose over the whole lifecycle of the asset. The working group will encourage Malaysians to venture in Asset Integrity Management as a suistainable business.
- The Sustainability Working Group promotes activities to establish Malaysia as a leader in Sustainable Management in the Asia Pacific region. Through collaboration and engagement with industry stakeholders, the working group will promote awareness on the importance of Sustainable Management and Development in Malaysia. A key goal is to support the development and enhance local capabilities in Sutainable Management, and increase the profile and visibility of Malaysian Sustainability related service companies and practices.
